World First: ProSense Hydrogen and Carbon Monoxide Sensors Achieve UL Certification for Silicone-Poisoning Resistance and Reliability at 85°C

Advancing Gas-Sensing Innovation to Support Safeguard Critical Infrastructure Worldwide

SHENZHEN, China, August 17, 2026 — UL Solutions, a global leader in applied safety science, formally presented Shenzhen ProSense Technologies Co., Ltd. ("ProSense") with certification for its hydrogen and carbon monoxide sensors.

The certification establishes ProSense as the world’s first gas sensor manufacturer to achieve UL certification for both silicone-poisoning resistance and reliability at 85°C across hydrogen and carbon monoxide sensor technologies.

From AI data centers and battery energy storage systems (BESS) to industrial safety and life-safety applications, critical infrastructure is evolving toward higher power densities, more demanding operating environments and longer service lives. As a result, expectations for gas sensors are extending well beyond basic detection performance to encompass application-specific suitability, environmental resilience, long-term stability, lifecycle reliability and extended maintenance-free operation.

This certification marks an important milestone in ProSense’s long-term commitment to advanced gas-sensing technologies, enhanced product reliability and global application readiness. It also validates the company’s continued innovation in silicone-poisoning resistance, high-temperature resilience and long-term reliability.

SETTING A NEW APPLICATION BENCHMARK FOR GAS-DETECTION SAFETY

The certificate ceremony was attended by representatives from both organizations, including Jack Xu, Asia General Manager, Built Environment from UL Solutions; Jinyun Li, Asia Senior Sales Manager, Built Environment from UL Solutions; and Ms. Li Zhao, General Manager and Chief Engineer of ProSense.

EXECUTIVE PERSPECTIVES: REAL-WORLD APPLICATIONS ARE SHAPING THE NEXT GENERATION OF GAS-DETECTION TECHNOLOGY

UL Solutions: Advancing Innovation Through Scientific Validation

Jack Xu, General Manager, Asia, Built Environment, UL Solutions, said:

“As emerging industries continue to grow rapidly, product reliability and long-term operational stability are becoming increasingly important priorities across vertical markets. UL Solutions remains committed to helping companies validate product performance and advance technological innovation and high-quality industry development through scientific, rigorous testing and evaluation. This certification reflects the performance of the relevant gas sensors against specific reliability criteria in BESS and AI data center. We look forward to continued technical collaboration across the industry to help build a safer and more reliable ecosystem.”

ProSense: Bringing High-Reliability Gas Sensing to Critical Infrastructure Worldwide

Ms. Li Zhao, General Manager and Chief Engineer of ProSense, said:

“Applications such as AI data centers, battery energy storage systems and life-safety systems are redefining the reliability requirements for gas-detection technologies. In these critical environments, sensors must do more than detect gases accurately; they must also withstand the sustained challenges created by high temperatures, contaminants, continuous operation and complex operating conditions.”

“ProSense has long focused on advanced gas-sensing technologies, consistently embedding international standards, reliability engineering and global application requirements into our product development system. Achieving another world-first certification from UL Solutions provides important validation of our long-term technology roadmap. Looking ahead, we will continue to advance product reliability through innovation and bring advanced gas-sensing technologies developed in China to more customers and critical infrastructure applications worldwide.”

TWO CRITICAL CHALLENGES: SILICONE-POISONING RESISTANCE × RELIABILITY AT 85°C

The gas sensor is the core sensing element through which a gas-detection system obtains information about its surrounding environment.

In real-world energy storage environments, long-term sensor performance is determined not only by initial accuracy under laboratory conditions, but also by the ability to maintain stable operation when exposed to elevated temperatures, contaminants, prolonged service and complex environmental conditions.

The newly certified ProSense hydrogen and carbon monoxide sensors were evaluated in two critical areas of reliability:

Silicone-Poisoning Resistance

Evaluates sensor reliability when exposed to potential contaminants such as siloxanes that is present in demanding application environments in BESS and AI data centers.

Reliability at 85°C

Further validates sensor performance and environmental resilience under high-temperature and other demanding operating conditions in BESS facility.

From silicone-poisoning resistance to reliability at 85°C, these capabilities reflect a fundamental shift in how the gas-sensing industry evaluates performance:

AI computing infrastructure continues to advance toward greater computing and power densities, while battery energy storage deployment is expanding rapidly worldwide. These applications share one defining requirement:

Safety systems must remain continuously available, provide trusted information before risk escalates and generate data that enables better management of critical facilities.

Gas-detection technology is therefore evolving from a standalone detector component into a continuously reliable sensing node within a broader safety system. Sensor drift, environmental resilience, contamination resistance and lifecycle stability can all directly affect the effectiveness of the entire detection system.

Reliability is no longer simply a sensor performance parameter; it is becoming an essential component of lifecycle safety across the gas-detection system.

ADVANCING NEXT-GENERATION GAS DETECTION FOR AI DATA CENTERS AND BESS

During the certification event, UL Solutions and ProSense also held a dedicated technical session on gas-detection technologies for thermal-runaway management in AI data centers and battery energy storage systems (BESS).

Drawing on global industry trends, the two organizations discussed high-reliability gas-sensing technologies, long-term operational stability, quantitative gas detection, environmental resilience, the evolution of international standards and product reliability validation.

As AI data centers, energy storage systems and new-energy industries continue to expand, several clear priorities are emerging for the next generation of gas-detection technology:

· From qualitative indication to precise, quantitative measurement

· From short-term performance to lifecycle reliability

· From isolated laboratory metrics to resilience in complex, real-world environments

· From periodic calibration to extended maintenance-free operation

· From compliance with a single market requirement to alignment with global standards and certification frameworks

The deeper integration of technological innovation and international standards is becoming a powerful driver of continued progress across the global gas-detection industry.

ADVANCING GAS-SENSING INNOVATION FOR GLOBAL APPLICATIONS

The Sole Company in Asia Participating in Three Major International Gas-Detection Standards Committees

ProSense is the sole company in Asia represented on the standards technical panels for all three of the following international gas-detection standards:

· UL 2075 — Gas and Vapor Detectors and Sensors

· UL 2034 — Single and Multiple Station Carbon Monoxide Alarms

· UL 2201 — Carbon Monoxide Emission Rate of Portable Generators

ProSense continues to build differentiated technical capabilities through core materials science, active participation in international standards development and deep expertise in vertical applications. The company closely aligns product development with the real-world requirements of customers worldwide. Certification by UL Solutions for silicone-poisoning resistance and reliability at 85°C represents an important milestone in this long-term technology strategy.

From a single sensor to a complete detection system—and ultimately to the safety of critical infrastructure worldwide—ProSense is committed not only to advancing product performance, but also to expanding the long-term value of gas-sensing technology within safety systems.

Looking ahead, ProSense will continue to innovate in China while serving customers worldwide. With technological innovation at its core, international standards as a bridge and long-term reliability as a cornerstone of product development, the company will continue to expand the global deployment of advanced gas-sensing technologies across AI data centers, battery energy storage, industrial safety, residential safety and other life-safety applications—creating lasting value for critical infrastructure around the world.
